True to the End

I went to Wal Mart this morning to look for some bike lights, and on my way out I saw a penny underneath the back of a parked car. Well of course I couldn't leave it, but my hands were full of groceries so I instructed my 4 year old to crawl under the back of the car and grab it. She refuses, stressing out because she might get run over. So, I set my groceries down and pick it up. But guess what, there are two more pennies even further under the car! Once again I ask Ashtyn to get them and she says, "no mom, let's just wait for the car to leave." I told her never mind and went and put her and the groceries into the car. But that nagging feeling just wouldn't go away, so like a dork, I get on my hands and knees and first crawl under the passenger side of the car and get one penny, it's then that I realize I can't reach the other penny from the passenger side so I go over to the drivers side and get down on my hands and knees again, and get the 3rd penny. I think I am supposed to be an adult but I don't think adults are supposed to crawl on their hands and knees in the Wal Mart parking lot for pennies! Oh well, we are 3 cents richer now.

  1. Old habits die hard. Good find Jaime. And no matter what, we are all kids at heart. It is always okay for adults to crawl around on the ground...well almost always.

  4. That's too funny. You probably weren't very patient with her when she said she wouldn't crawl under there. Kai is into finding pennies too. I even got the kids a metal detector at a garage sale this weekend so they could hunt for lucky pennies.

  5. You are so funny! I was going to say that I can't believe you did that, but I know you better and that is totally something you would do! Hope you didn't ruin any clothes in the process!
