The East Oregonian

I talked with Kathy from the EO today. She is excited in helping us gain some publicity and hopefully some more pennies to help us on our way to Spokane. Hopefully the article will inform more people about what we are doing and make our fundraising efforts very successful!

A small but good start!

I sold my first batch of cinnnmon rolls...$10- woohoo! My neighbor also gave me a baggie of change (I feel like I hit the penny jackpot) and a bag of cans. Exciting start!

The bottle drive has begun!

As of April 30th, we are collecting and returning bottles. We have with our first returns $19.10. I personally have 2 more bags to return so we will top $20 by tomorrow.
If anyone has bottles or cans they want to get rid of let any one of the shiny pennies know and we'll take them off of your hands. We will also have a collection site at our car wash on May 15th. Every PENNY helps get us closer to Spokane. Thanks for your help, it is greatly appreciated. SPS

Stood up

I think this is the first morning I know of that no one ran due to weather. But the 35 mph sustained winds and horrible wind gusts kept me in bed. Glad I didn't have to go out in it! So what are you doing to make up for not going out?....anyone?

Any other soggy pennies?

Holy Hannah! Did anyone else run in the thunderstorm/down pour this afternoon? I had to get a towel to dry my kitchen floor after I came in from my run. I as dripping. It was a warm rain and I really don't mind running in the rain but when it started PELTING me, it wasn't fun any more.

Early Morning Runs

There are a few of us that are regular early morning runners, if any of you other Shiny Pennies are interesting in joining us at 5am please come and have fun with us. We are all at different paces but we push each other to keep going. Usually these runs vary from 2.7 to 4+ miles but I am sure in the near future these will become longer distances, as our training is starting to increase. Keep on running and don't forget to have fun ladies!!! -Fawn It was finally getting light outside as we were cooling down, which didn't take long with the wind that was kicking up. This was about a 3.5 mile run today, which was a little disappointing as we thought it was at least 4 miles. Oh well, next time right? or maybe not.

I have Shiny Penny story

Jan and I were doing a training swim today and on lap 20 I put my hand up on the end of the pool to turn and what do you think I put my hand on? YES! I found a penny at the end of the pool. I made sure that Jan or Lance didn't plant it. What are the chances? FUN

Car wash -- it is official

We have Wilcox for May 15th. Put it on your calendars! WOO HOO! Thanks Linda!
WE ARE HAVING A PENNY DRIVE. PENNIES ARE OUR OBSESSION, BUT WE HAVEN'T FOUND ENOUGH LAYING AROUND THE STREETS OF PENDLETON TO GET US TO SPOKANE. PLEASE LOOK FOR OUR PENNY JARS ALL AROUND PENDLETON. WE WOULD LOVE THE SUPPORT. IF YOU HAVE AN EXTRA PENNY (OR TWO), DROP IT IN. THANKS!

Testing

I'm messing around to see if we can post directly to the blog or if we can only comment on other posts.
