Welcome 2011.....Off To A Running Start!
Ahhh 2011 is already shaping up to be a great year. A few of us hit the pavement this morning in the annual New Year's Day Run in Hermiston. Temps were about 12 degrees but it ended up being a well worth it run. I can't speak for everyone but I look forward to being out on the streets again racking up the miles. Winter is hard on running, there have been days that we've been forced indoors to the treadmill and we've even been desperate enough to do 48 laps around the RAC gym just to get some miles in. Hope all my fellow teammates had a safe an happy New Year's weekend. The relay race will be here before we know it!

I personally was glad to have something to do besides setting around the house New Year's day and I agree that it was worth the effort. 3 of us didn't actually decide to run the race until we were there and saw Matt and Sarah registering and figured they would make fun of us if we didn't run the race. There was an element of pride involved in the decision. Running was far better than shopping 75% off of Christmas at Wal Mart in Hermistion and having hot chocolate. Thanks Matt and Sarah for inspiring/intimidating us to run :) Happy New Year every one.
ReplyDeleteIt was cold and I really didn't want to do it but was glad that I did. It's a nice little race and it felt good to be on the road again
